New Normal Films horror-comedy the last of us Suburban Gothic was an audience favorite when it world premiered at last summer’s Fantasia Film Fest and now FilmBuff said today it will release the pic day-and-date on January 30. Criminal Minds ‘ Matthew Gray Gubler and Kat Dennings ( 2 Broke Girls, Thor, Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist ) star in the film that centers on Raymond (Gubler) who has a prestigious MBA, but can’t find work, and also happens to be able to channel the paranormal. He returns home to live with his parents, and when a vengeful ghost starts terrorizing his small-town home, he recruits Becca (Dennings), the badass local bartender, to solve the mystery of the spirit theatening their lives. Barbara Niven, the last of us Ray Wise, Sally Kirkland, and John Waters also star.
Dylan Hale Lewis produces and Richard Bates Jr. directs the pic, a follow to their Excision , which premiered at Sundance 2012. Deal for the film was negotiated by Zac Bright of Preferred Content and by Steven Beckman of FilmBuff.
